Pulse of Democracy
Americas Barometer data are based on national samples of respondents from each country.
It is important to understand that each estimate (for example, the percentage of citizens in a country who support democracy) has a confidence interval, expressed as a range around that estimate. Many figures in this report display 95% confidence intervals to reflect this sampling uncertainty. When the confidence intervals for two estimates overlap substantially, the difference between them is typically not statistically significant. Conversely, when two confidence intervals do not overlap, readers can be confident that the difference is statistically significant at the 95% confidence level.
